Survey on the revision of the European Code of Good Conduct for Microcredit Provision

The European Commission has launched a survey to gather input from microfinance providers across Europe ahead of the planned revision of the European Code of Good Conduct for Microcredit Provision (the Code).

Digital skills - Part 1

The survey is addressed to all financial institutions active in the microfinance sector—whether or not they currently adhere to the Code.  It seeks to understand the Code’s effectiveness, its relevance in today’s market, and any practical challenges organizations  face when applying it. Additionally, participants are encouraged to share  suggestions for improvements.

The survey forms a key part of the revision process launched in 2025, ensuring the updated Code better reflects the evolving needs and realities of the microfinance sector. All responses will be treated anonymously and will feed into the revision process, with the updated Code expected to be adopted possibly by late 2026 or early 2027.

The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and will remain open until 6 July 2025

We warmly encourage all microfinance stakeholders to participate and share their insights to help shape the future of microcredit provision in Europe.
